Could've, Should've, Would've

Dear Mosaic Family,"Of all the words of mice and men, the saddest are "It might have been." That's not in the Bible, but the general sentiment is. In our text tomorrow, the Apostle Paul is on a ship headed to Rome, which gets caught in a storm, and ultimately destroyed in a shipwreck. Paul had warned the centurion not to embark on the trip, but he decided he was smarter than Paul. So after the ship is on the brink of destruction, Paul says what everyone would say: "Men, you should have listened to me." He doesn't stop there though, and offers them words of encouragement, guidance, and life.

God is a good Father, who wants the absolutely best for his children. Therefore, he tells us how we should and shouldn't live, where we should and shouldn't go, what we should and shouldn't love, and what we should and shouldn't do. He does this because he wants to protect us from wasting our lives; instead he wants us to live joyful, prosperous life of flourishing, for his glory, and our joy.

God's Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to my fight. Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching (tells us which way to go), for reproof (shows us where we've gone the wrong way), for correction (shows us how to get back to the right path), and for training in righteousness (shows us how to walk the right way with more power), that the person of God may be complete, equipped for every good work (2 Tim. 3:16-17).

How do we live lives without regrets? That's the topic of conversationtomorrow. Be sure to join us!

Praying for you, Pastor Jan
