Prodigal: The Woman Caught in Grace
Dear Mosaic Family,During our "Prodigal" sermon series, I've repeated several times that the word "prodigal" doesn't so much mean "wayward" as "reckless." As we look at stories of prodigals returning to God in Scripture, we are learning that we are prodigal with sin, while God is prodigal with grace. As we continue our series tomorrow, we're looking at the story of the woman caught in adultery. We're not given her name in the story, so theologians have called her just that. However, this doesn't sit well with me. Once a person meets God, their whole essence is redeemed and identity transformed. Prodigal Simon becomes restored Peter, and prodigal Saul becomes commissioned Paul, so the prodigal woman caught in adultery should become the forgiven woman caught in grace.
Join us tomorrow as we study one of the most beautifully profound stories of grace in all of Scripture.
Praying for you, Pastor Jan
