Dear Mosaic Family,What does it mean, to make it in life? How do you know you've arrived? What is it exactly, that all of us are working so hard for? What's the goal? What is success? What is greatness? Our culture is infatuated with the rich and the famous. Celebrity is revered in our collective conscience. Social media allows us to keep up with our favorite celebrities or pundits, those with the "official status" blue checkmark next to their name. Deep down inside, we too want to be recognized. To be famous? Maybe. But at least a little recognition would be nice. We long to be admired, respected, maybe even revered. We want to impress. We long to justify our existence with our success. We too are worthy, right?

That desire for recognition and acceptance is something Scripture called "glory." We are drawn to glory. The glory of leaders. The glory of celebrities. The glory of intellectuals. We want some of that glory. We also want others to glorify in us. The pat on the shoulder. The applause. However, even those of us who get it, soon realize, it's not all it's cracked up to be. Jim Carrey recently said, "I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it's not the answer."

Holy Scripture says that God created us for his glory (Isaiah 43:7). We are most satisfied and blessed when we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God, when we are dazzled by Him. Join us tomorrow as we ponder these deep and incredibly relevant truths. In order to best prepare yourself for the sermon tomorrow, please read Romans chapter 4-5. Looking forward to worshiping with you tomorrow!

Praying for you! Pastor Jan
