Who are you inviting to church on Easter?

Dear Mosaic Family,

Did you know that Easter is only 2 weeks away? Why is Easter such a big deal? Because Easter is the Super Bowl of Christianity! And if you think this year's Super Bowl was a great comeback (and yes, it was the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history, to be exact), Easter is the celebration of the, literally, Greatest Comeback Ever!!

A recent Pew Research study found that more Americans search for "church" on the Internet around Easter than at any other time of the year. Now imagine if, unbeknownst to you, your friends, neighbors, colleagues, fellow-students, are looking for a church to visit on Easter? Imagine how much more impactful a personal invitation would be. They can come with. You can show them how to get to the Temple. Where to park (or where to get off the T). Where to get coffee and a bagel. Where the bathrooms are. You can sit together. Enjoy the phenomenal music from our super-talented worship band. The message will be incredibly accessible, engaging, relevant and will focus on how awesome Jesus is and on the Greatest News Ever (#notfakenews).

Afterward, you can take your friend out to brunch in Coolidge Corner or somewhere in Fenway and you can answer any questions they may have. How amazing does that sound? Best thing about it, you're being used by God in your friend's life to draw your friend closer to God.

So, who are you inviting to come to church on Easter with you? Do you have some people in mind? Well, how about this: start praying for them by name. Pray for the Lord to give you an opportunity to invite them, and pray for the Lord to use Easter to draw them to Jesus. And then: invite them. You got two weeks to do it. Easy.

Join us tomorrow as we meditate on John 14:1-14, where Jesus pronounces his famous words: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

In Christ,
Pastor Jan

P.S. We've got a baptisms tomorrow at the end of the 11:15 service, and we'll be showing the video testimonies of the people getting baptized, in all three services.
