How's your prayer life?

Dear Mosaic Family,

How's your prayer life? Whenever anyone asks me about my prayer life, first, I'm always taken aback a little (um... that's a really personal, like asking how much I've got in my bank account). I usually say something like, "It's good, but it can always be better." Your prayer life can always be better, right? Prayer is like eating healthy and exercising, there's always room for improvement, right? The problem is, when we start viewing our prayer life like a duty to be performed, rather than a privilege to be enjoyed, we lose all motivation, and ultimately all power.

So what is prayer? How can we learn to enjoy prayer? How can we become people of prayer? Does prayer do anything? Is prayer powerful? How can my prayer life become more powerful?

As we continue our series through the incredible book of Nehemiah, we'll look at Nehemiah's prayer in 1:4-11. Not only is this one of the most power-packed prayers in all of history, but it also offers us a template, for how we too can develop potent prayer lives. Join us tomorrow at either of our three services, and members, don't forget about our 3rd quarterly members' meeting at 1pm, where we will eat together, celebrate all God is doing in our midst, and of course, prayer together!

Praying for you,
Pastor Jan
