Good News of Great Joy

Dear Mosaic Family,

This Sunday, Christmas Eve, we'll pause our Kingdom Come series in the Gospel of Mark, to meditate on the incarnation of Jesus Christ, from Luke 2:1-21.

When an angel of the Lord appeared to a group of shepherds to announce the birth of Jesus Christ, the angel said to them "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people."

Good news that brings with it great joy. Joy is found in knowing and receiving the good news. This news is good because it's true. The joy is grounded in truth. Happiness is in the feelings. Joy is in the facts.

Joy is found in Jesus Christ. He is the only one who can give you joy because He is the only one who can change the ultimate facts of your eternal destiny.

“Rejoice that your names are written in heaven!”
“Rejoice that God chose you before the foundation of the world.”
“Rejoice that God loves you so much that He, God, stooped down to become a child. To grow up to be a holy, perfect man, who obeyed every commandment of God from the heart. The only One to truly do God’s will. Then this Anointed Messianic King allowed Himself to be crucified by His subjects, because it was the only way to save his subjects from their sins.”
“Rejoice that God provided a way to save you from eternal judgment in hell.”
“Rejoice that God gave you the gift of repentance.”
“Rejoice that God gave you his gifts of grace and mercy and faith.”
“Rejoice that God gave you the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
“Rejoice that God gave you the Holy Scriptures.”
“Rejoice that God gave you a spiritual family, the church.”
“Rejoice that God gave you a mission and purpose and hope.”
“Rejoice that you have eternal life and will spend it in the presence of God.”
“Rejoice that you have God.”
“Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice.”

Looking forward to worshiping with you!
