Newsletter: Love God; Hate Lies
Dear Mosaic Family,
Psalm 97:10 says "O you who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked."
To love the Lord is to hate evil, because the Lord hates evil. A God of perfect holiness must hate evil, to remain in perfect holiness.
Romans 12:9 says "Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good."
In our text for Sunday, Mark 12:35-44, we are shown that one of the greatest forms of evil is hypocrisy, because hypocrisy is evil masquerading as good, lies masquerading as truth, wolves in sheep clothing.
Jesus says in Mark 12:38-40 “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes and like greetings in the marketplaces and have the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at feasts, who devour widows' houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.”
Hypocrisy is pretending to love God, while using religion as a means to evil ends. The text then contrasts such hypocrisy with true devotion that the Lord is pleased with: a poor widow giving the Lord all she had to live on.
Join us Sunday as we meditate upon Mark 12:35-44.
Looking forward to worshiping with you!

Baptism Class

Please note that we have changed the date for our upcoming class to Sunday, May 19. We believe that Christian Baptism is the Baptism of a believer upon their profession of faith, into the name of the Father, and Son, and Holy Spirit; to show forth, in a solemn and beautiful sign, our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life. If you are a Christian who hasn't been baptized, we'd encourage you to attend our baptism class. Sign up or learn more here.

Fundraising Goal
Right now, our church has a big goal—to raise $5 million for our own worship space. We believe every tongue will confess and every knee will bow to Jesus Christ. That’s why we want to establish a permanent church home in a global city, where God’s people from far and wide can learn about the living God. Visit here if you would like to know more or donate to this goal.
