Putting God on Trial
Dear Mosaic Family,
400 years or so before Jesus, Plato in his Republic imagines what would happen to a man, a just man, who came from outside this world into this world. What would happen to such a just man?
Plato writes, “What they will say is this: that such being his disposition, the just man will have to endure the lash, the rack, the chains, the branding-iron in his eyes, and finally, after every extremity of suffering, he will be crucified (impaled), and so will learn his lesson that not to be, but to seem just is what we ought to desire.”
Plato might as well have been writing about Jesus Christ.
In our text for Sunday, Jesus Christ, God is put on trial. We are all tempted to put God on trial from time to time.
C.S. Lewis wrote in God in the Dock, "The ancient man approached God (or even the gods) as the accused person approaches his judge. For the modern man, the roles are quite reversed. He is the judge: God is in the dock. He is quite a kindly judge; if God should have a reasonable defense for being the god who permits war, poverty, and disease, he is ready to listen to it. The trial may even end in God’s acquittal. But the important thing is that man is on the bench and God is in the dock.”
Join us Sunday as meditate upon Mark 14:53-65.
Looking forward to worshiping with you!

This Week's Announcements
Parent Commissioning Class
Sunday, June 23 at 1:00pm
At Mosaic, we don't dedicate children. Instead we commission parents who have dedicated themselves to living gospel-centered lives in front of their children. Just like missionaries called to the mission field, we want to equip and send parents to be the Christlike ambassadors they are called to be. Anyone who is (or is soon to be!) shepherding a child is welcome to join the class. Sign up or find more information here.
Community Lunch
Sunday, July 7 at 1:00pm
Join us monthly for food and fellowship following the second service. Lunch will be provided by Mosaic. This is a great opportunity to bring your friends, family, or neighbors.
Serve with us
We love our volunteers!
At Mosaic Boston, we serve because Jesus served. The Gospel makes us a family marked by Christlike humility and service to God, to his church, and to the people around us. We can all play an eternally significant role in Jesus’ mission. Service Teams are a key aspect of our Sunday operations and meet Sundays before, during, or after Worship Services. We have a huge need across many of our teams, you can find more information and get involved here.

Fundraising Goal
Right now, our church has a big goal—to raise $5 million for our own worship space. We believe every tongue will confess and every knee will bow to Jesus Christ. That’s why we want to establish a permanent church home in a global city, where God’s people from far and wide can learn about the living God. Visit here if you would like to know more or donate to this goal.
