Who are you?
Dear Mosaic Family,We continue our "Why (God) Why" series tomorrow by making the case that "Christianity Makes Personal Sense." What do I mean by this? I mean: Christianity provides the most substantive, substantiated and satisfying answer to the question: "Who are you?"
How do you answer this question? You really should have an answer, since this is one of, if not the, most fundamental question to your existence. Do you automatically respond with your level of education? Your job title? Do you think of your position in your family? Your nationality? Maybe your accomplishments? Do you think of your bottom line? Perhaps, your talents come to mind. Or is it your relationships? Who are you?
One of my favorite movie scenes, related to this question, takes place in the movie "Anger Management" with Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson. The character Sandler plays has been forced by a judge to take an anger management class, in which Nicholson is his therapist. Sandler has an excruciatingly difficult time answering the simple question posed by Nicholson, "Who are you?" You can find the clip here. Community Service Opportunity: Mosaic Boston is partnering with several community organizations to clean up Ringer Park in Allston, on Saturday May 3rd [MOVED BECAUSE OF RAIN], 9am-1pm. Pre-service Prayer: Every Sunday morning, Mosaic holds a pre-service prayer meeting at 9am. Please join us in theater #8 to pray for our church, our city, and our world!
