The #1 Spiritual Growth Secret
Dear Mosaic Boston Family,
What is the best way to grow spiritually? Reading the Bible? Memorizing Scripture? Going to church? Serving at church? Studying systematic theology? Praying more often? Attending Christian conferences?
These are all great spiritual disciplines and will certainly deepen your faith. However, there's something even more powerful to deepen your faith!
The number #1 spiritual growth secret: do not focus on growing your own faith; focus of helping someone else grow theirs.
In Colossians 1:28, the Apostle Paul tells us, "I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake." Rejoicing in suffering!?! What? Why would he be rejoicing in suffering? Though he loves not suffering (we all do), he actually loves something more than his own comfort. He loves seeing people meet Jesus and grow in their faith. So he says, "Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me."
Join us tomorrow as we meditate on the #1 spiritual growth secret from Colossians 1:24-2:23.
Praying for you!
Pastor Jan
