LOVE: ACTION REQUIRED
Dear Mosaic Family,
As we're cultivating the fruit of the Holy Spirit this summer at the church, we're learning that love requires action. Sometimes, the Lord gives us an opportunity to show how much we love Him and Jesus and the Bride of Jesus Christ, the Church.
Well, that opportunity is right here and right now.
In January 2024, Temple Ohabei Shalom permanently fastened the latest iteration of the Pride Flag on the facade of their building, right next to the 10 commandments which expressly forbid Pride.
We knew it was time to leave Egypt. The next promised land turned out to be 20 Chapel St., a ballroom to serve as a worship space where the church, the bride, can learn to follow the lead of Jesus, the Bridegroom.
We signed a purchase and sale agreement with the seller for $2,800,000. The largest mortgage we can carry is $2,000,000. We have raised $345,000 from within our church body, praise be to God. We can dip into our church emergency fund, but even so, we must leave enough reserves to satisfy the lender. Therefore, we're missing $200,000 to make the deal happen by September 15th.
The word the Apostle Paul uses in Galatians, translated in English as "goodness," is the same word Jesus uses in the parable of the Vineyard workers. Jesus told a story about a vineyard owner who employed men to work in his vineyard. Some worked all day and got their one-day’s wages. Others had been employed only for the last hour or two of the day, but the owner gave them a whole day’s wages too. The earlier workers complained it wasn’t fair, but the owner said to them, “Are you envious because I am generous?” (Mt 20:15).
To be good in the biblical senses is to be generous, for all of the right reasons. To be good is to be generous from the heart. The Lord has raised up a generous giver from within the church who is committing to give $100,000 to make this deal on 20 Chapel Street happen, and to secure Mosaic Boston a permanent home for years to come. The donation comes as a matching grant. Meaning, every dollar you donate buys twice as much brick and mortar for the Kingdom of God. It's brick and mortar, which will house the vital and vibrant Temple of God, you, the Bride of Jesus Christ, you, Mosaic Boston.
Therefore Church, if we raise $100,000 in the next two weeks, we can call 20 Chapel St. home. If you plan to give, please get your gift in by August 17th by going to our giving page on the website or app.
Also, join us Sunday as we meditate on cultivating goodness, which is love giving.
Galatians 5:22-24 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires."
Looking forward to worshiping with you!

Fundraising Goal
Right now, our church has a big goal—to raise $5 million for our own worship space. We believe every tongue will confess and every knee will bow to Jesus Christ. That’s why we want to establish a permanent church home in a global city, where God’s people from far and wide can learn about the living God. Visit here if you would like to know more or donate to this goal.
