Worldwide Kingdom Building Force

Dear Mosaic Family,

In my church office, I have two paintings. The first was gifted to me by Pastor George, who was preaching at a worship service I attended at age 9, when the Lord first called me to preach the Word of God. The painting is of a little snow covered cabin in the woods, by a river, with a little rowboat. The painting is peaceful.

The second painting I have, about four times as big, depicts a WWII Aircraft carrier, rusted and beat up from battle, but charging forward, full steam ahead, steadily but powerfully, with airplanes ascending and descending. The painting is inspiring.

I would much rather live in the cabin in the woods, enjoying freshly caught fish by the fire place. But the battle beckons. If you've been around Mosaic a while, you know we love the cruiseship vs. battleship metaphor to explain that the church isn't here to entertain, but to charge the gates of hell.

I've come to realize our church is more than just a battleship. We're an aircraft carrier. Every moving truck you've seen this week is yet another reminder, we've got planes landing here from all over the world. We work on the engines, fuel them up, give them directions, purpose, mission, and then send them off to build the Kingdom of God worldwide.

This Sunday, I'll be preaching our annual vision sermon. I'll unpack every word:

Mosaic Boston aspires to joyfully become a worldwide kingdom building force by proclaiming, believing, and obeying the whole counsel of God, and thereby building men and women of God committed to the Great Mission, Great Commandment, and Great Commission.

Looking forward to worshiping with you!

Pastor Jan

We can all play an eternally significant role in Jesus’ mission. Service Teams are a key aspect of our Sunday operations and meet Sundays before, during, or after Worship Services. We have a huge need across many of our teams, you can find more information and get involved here.
