How to be a Good CoJourner
Dear Mosaic Boston Family,
We're excited to host Jarrod Lynn as our guest preacher on Sunday. Jarrod was born and raised in northern California. He graduated from Brown University with a bachelors degree in Economics & Engineering, and also a Masters degree in Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship.
While at Brown, he was very involved with the Cru campus ministry and felt God's call to be a minister back on campus. He joined the Staff of Cru in 2007. Since then, he has had the opportunity to minister to many students, professors, athletes, and coaches at Brown University, as well as other schools in New England.
During that time, he's also completed his Certificate from the Institute of Biblical Studies and is currently working on the Certificates from the CCEF School of Biblical Counseling. I very much look forward to being with you this Sunday as your guest and fellow worshiper of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. I've only heard stories of what God is doing in and through you, so I'm especially grateful to finally see and experience God's goodness and grace at Mosaic Boston.
I'd like to talk about a word with which you may not be familiar, and that word is cojourner. This is more than someone you grab an Uber with across town or your wing-man at a party. For the Christian, to be a CoJourner is to come alongside others on their spiritual journey and help point them to Jesus Christ. This is easier said than done, I know. And being on the college campus for 15+ years, I've had to learn the hard way. By God's grace I have learned (and still learning!), and so I hope this Sunday that I can help you help others.
We'll be jogging through Acts 17 to see some good episodes of the Apostle Paul being a good cojourner to different types of people. And we'll learn some essential principles and practices to introducing Jesus to your colleagues, friends, and family. No matter who you are––from introvert to extrovert––or where you're at––from uncertain about Christ to sold-out believer––there will be wisdom and encouragement for you on your spiritual journey.
I look forward to coming alongside you this Sunday to help point you to the Author and Perfecter of our faith.
